Women in STEM 12/5/23 Meeting Recap

On December 5th, we had our last general meeting of the semester. Here is what you missed:

Congrats to all of our amazing seniors graduating this semester! Our E-Board member Lucy Broadwell will be graduating this semester. Thank you for all your hard work for Women in STEM Lucy!

Next Semester Reminders:

- You will have to pay dues if you did not pay for the whole year (even if you are a returning member!)

• $15 for the semester

• Pay early to Avery (Venmo: @avery_boyk)

- There will be a “bring-a-friend” event next semester where you can receive more than 1 point if attending with someone who is new to Women in STEM

- Email Xheni (or respond to our weekly emails / event reminders) to add a friend’s email to our email list ○ You may also direct potential new members to our website where an email list sign-up form can be found https://msuwomeninstem.wixsite.com/msuwis

Distinguished Membership Requirement

To obtain distinguished membership requirement:

• 7 points per semester

• Can get points from any event(examples: general meeting, guest speaker, study social, volunteer, etc)

• Get 1/2 point for reposting event reminders on your Instagram story and Attending the meeting (make sure to tag us so we can see it)

• Why?

• You are able to run for E-board

• If you are graduating in December or May, you may be eligible for a graduation cord.

Women in STEM 9/19/23 Meeting Recap

Thank you for everyone who attended our first general meeting! Here is a recap:

We introduced our executive board, discussed club pillars, and membership requirements and played fun games.

Our Membership Requirements:

General Membership: - Dues: $15 per semester or $25 for entire year -Helps to provide snacks, cords, socials, and more!

-Pay via Venmo to: avery_boyk

-Allows you to participate in all general meetings and other events!

Distinguished Membership:

-Point Requirement: -7 total points per semester to be a Distinguished Member -Able to get points from ANY event (typically 1 point per event) - General meetings, guest speakers, social, fundraiser, volunteering -Able to earn 1⁄2 point for reposting meeting information on Instagram (if you also attend the meeting)

-Benefits: -Will be able to run for E-board

-If graduating in December or May, will be eligible for a graduation cord! Questions?

-Attendance is MANDATORY for those planning on coming to Hayride, as we will have liability forms for you to sign and talk over some other logistics stuff before that event!

IMPORTANT NOTE: ID access is required for entering buildings on campus after 6 pm, so please make sure you have yours, since we will meet in Wells Hall!
